After all the directories and the performance of the ixi-UMS MDS have been determined, the respective locations with its servers and the routing have to be configured. Messages are always routed to the "locations". One or multiple ixi-UMS Kernel Servers can be assigned to the locations. In the "Locations", the setting "Rotate" also determines whether and with which ixi-UMS Kernel servers a load balancing and / or a high availability should be used.
