ixi-UMS MDS Configuration

The ixi-UMS MDS is configured via a Snap-In in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).

 

MMC_MDS

The needed Snap-In is registered automatically on the machine during the installation.

 

The call of the MMC is desposited in the start menu, in which the Snap-In is already available. The Snap-In - as any other Snap-In - can also be added to an MMC.

 

 

Changing the language of the Snap-In

It is explained at additional information "Changing MMC Language" how the language of the MMC is changed after the installation.

The required files are provided in the respective installation directory of the ixi-UMS Component in the sub-folder "Management".

 

Copy the folder "Management", at the least the respective "...Snapin.dll" with the accompanying ini-file, to the machine. Close all the MMC's and register the files with "regsvr32".

Add the SnapIn in an MMC.

 

Add the SnapIn in a MMC and establish the connection to the ixi-UMS server

After adding the SnapIn in the MMC, the connection to another ixi-UMS component of the same version installed in the network can be added to the console by "right-clicking" on the respective component (here: "ixi-UMS Kernel Configuration") and "Add Computer".
