Setup for Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook can use an LDAP server as an address book. You can search this address book. It is used to resolve e-mail addresses.

Setup

  1. Data Source
    Configure a replicator or a phonebook.
  2. LDAP node
    You can use the LDAP node dc=meta. If you want to use custom settings for the node, configure a new LDAP node in Database Management.

    End Device Support Default
  3. Configuration in Microsoft Outlook
    In Microsoft Outlook, open Tools / Account Settings / Address Books. Add a new address book.
    Select the Internet directory service (LDAP)
    Server Name IP address or DNS name of the estos MetaDirectory server.
    Server requires logon Optional
    Additional Settings / Connection / Connection TCP port of the estos MetaDirectory server (default 712)
    Additional Settings / Search / Search Base Enter the LDAP node DN (dc=meta)
    Additional Settings / Search / Enable Searching Enabled
