User Management in Active Directory

When the server is in the domain and the DNS-server can be queried, the login-data are read out and displayed. To authenticate against the LDAP server, the user specified under "User DN" is used.

Important: This function only requires "read" access to the database and can also be performed via the "Global Catalog".

LDAP_AD

If the website for the ixi-UMS User Settings is to be made available to the users in ixi-UMS User Portal, the account entered here must have "write permission" in the LDAP database.

A different port for write access can be explicitly entered in the ixi-UMS Mail Server Connector configuration after installation.

Under "Attribute for saving user data" the attribute in which the ixi-UMS Mail Server Connector searches for the ixi-UMS properties of the user must be specified.

In this case, note the instructions and instructions under "Additional Informations": "Storing user data in arbitrary field" and "Extending the Schema - Active Directory".
