Select User Management

Via LDAP query the ixi-UMS Mail Server Connector determines the recipient e-mail address for incoming messages or checks the send authorization for outgoing messages, for example. The query is executed for each incoming and outgoing message. This function only requires "read" access to the database.

The connection data can be changed in the ixi-UMS Mail Server Connector Configuration after the installation.

Depending on the environment, the users - and thus the required ixi-UMS data - can be managed:

·in the ixi-UMS User Management (contained in the ixi-Framework)

·in the Active Directory

·in Lotus Domino (names.nsf)

Depending on the selection made, a note about ixi-UMS User Administration is displayed.

AD-Schema

If a Microsoft Exchange Server is installed in the organization, one of the "user-defined attributes" (extensionAttribute) should be selected.

If no Microsoft Exchange Server is installed or no free "extensionAttribute" is available, a ixi-UMS Schemaextension can be performed or another attribute can be used.

The attribute of the ixi-UMS scheme extension is called "ixiumsUserData" and can be selected. If another attribute is to be used, this must be entered.

Domino-Schema

If Lotus Domino was selected as the user administration, the extension of the schema of Names.nsf can be started directly if an Lotus Domino Designer is installed on the computer.

Otherwise the installation will be indicated.

According to the selection, the required data are filled out automatically or must be entered manually.
