Exchange 2007/2010

The query of messages in an MS Exchange 2013 or 2016 Server is exclusively supported in combination with Active Directory. The ixi-UMS user properties have to be deposited in the AD.

If another LDAP-data base is used for the storage of the user data, please refer to How To "Advanced LDAP Settings" or "Individual IMAP4 User Log-in".

In order to be able to read out and store the settings of the users, an administrator account is required for the LDAP-access (Active Directory).

With the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, the mailbox access by IMAP4 can only be executed by means of an "Individual IMAP4 User Log-in".

With Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 it is possible to use the administrative IMAP4-access "Alias-Login" to all the mailboxes .

In order to be able to access the mailboxes of the users via "Alias-Login", a user account must get Full Access to all the Mailboxes.

The ixi-UMS Voice-Mail Server therewith can be installed in a way that the users can listen to their ixi-UMS voice mails via telephone without having to deposit their password. As a result, there are almost no access problems that may arise when setting up a new user.

Moreover, the type of IMAP4-Authentication must generally be set up on the Exchange server.

In order to be able to forward and reply to messages via telephone, the Mailserver must be configured correctly. Please see Relay Enabling for ixi-UMS Mobile Package
