Groups

Note: If no or integrated user management is active, this dialog is deactivated.

The groups in the estos MetaDirectory are replicated by estos UCServer or Microsoft Active Directory to a built-in database. Access is readable. No data is written back to the source.

Groups are disabled by default.

A group is assigned to exactly one accessprofile. Activating a group causes additiv inheritance of the accessprofile to its members.

Enabling a group activates all users, provided that these users are also at Active Directory or UCServer are activated. A group can only be activated if licenses are available to all users in the group.
If not, the group will be deactivated immediately. An activated user, who is member of an activated group, will consume only one user license.

The user rights of a group are additive. A user also inherits the access rights of the groups in which he is a member, to the rights assigned to him or her.
