Installation preparation

Prerequisite for the installation is the installed ixi-Framework in the given version.

The HTTP and HTTPS protocols are set up in the ixi framework. HTTP is activated by default when ixi-Framewok is installed. HTTPS can be activated and set up later at any time. Further information can be found in the ixi-Framework manual under "Additional Information - Set up SSL/HTTPS later".

Note: For the function "Recording announcements via the headset" in the ixi-UMS Voice-Mailbox configuration, the ixi-UMS User Portal must be made available via HTTPS.

The ixi-UMS Portal Server requires access to the ixi-UMS components via HTTP/HTTPS. Because the connection to the ixi-UMS components and the workstations is secured, the "privat.key" created by the ixi-UMS Portal Server must be entered in all ixi-UMS servers.

If the ixi-UMS Portal Server is installed on the same server as all (!) required ixi-UMS Enterprise components, all required settings are made through the setup.

distributed installation

If some or all ixi-UMS components are installed on other computers, access via HTTP/HTTPS must be ensured (depending on the required and desired websites).

If necessary, existing firewalls must be set up so that the ixi-UMS Portal Server can access the ixi-UMS computers via HTTP or HTTPS on the defined port.

The "public-key" of the ixi-UMS Portal Server must be entered in the ixi framework on all ixi-UMS servers. Please refer to the Additional Information: Distributed Installations.
