Send Test Message

You can use the test message to check the search in the LDAP database for the recipient number and the connection between the ixi-UMS Mail Server Connector and the mail system.

As a calling party number you can just specify any number. It will be used to form the mail sender address.

However, the Called party Number is very important. It must be entered in canonical format (country code, area code and telephone number). By default, these must be separated by spaces.

For further information on the format of the ixi-UMS-receiver number, please refer to the article "Assign ixi-UMS number" of the user management used.

By clicking on the button "Send" an incoming ixi-UMS message (as SMS) is sent to the ixi-UMS Mail Server Connector.

The ixi-UMS Mail Server Connector must receive a valid e-mail address from the LDAP database for the specified destination number and then sends the message as an e-mail to the mail server.

If no user with this number is found in the LDAP directory, the mail is sent to the default recipient (see also Mail System).

The LDAP search process can be traced in the "Ldap Search" connector log. Problems with delivery to the mail server are recorded in the log "SMTP connection".
