File Transfer

The performance of the ixi-UMS MDS in network access and file transfer can be influenced here.

The first settings exclusively affect the access by WebDav.

The ixi-UMS MDS by default supports no SSL coding. If the WebDav-connections shall be established via the HTTPS protocol, this feature must be enabled. Please note that in this case, also all the Apache Servers must be configured accordingly and certified. For more informationen please refer the Additional Information.

At "Time Outs" it is determined, when a connection or an access has failed.

Cancel LAN Connections

If no connection to the destination server can be established within the stated time, an error is reported. The ixi-UMS MDS transfers the outgoing messages to another server, if necessary. If there is none, the next location is addressed immediately.

Cancel File transfehr..

If a connection can be established within the stated time, however, a directory cannot be read out of a message cannot be transferred, an error is reported and the next directory is addressed.

HTTP-error

If a connection has been established, but is in an undefined state, the ixi-UMS Message Distribution Server service is restarted and an error is reported.

A restart of the ixi-UMS MDS can be caused e.g. by an HTTP-error reported from the remote station.

All actions and their causes are logged.

The settings at "File copy performance" are valid for WebDav- as well as for UNC-connections.

Inbound

Number of messages that are copied by the ixi-UMS Kernel Servers per directory at the time.

Outbound

Number of messages that are routed to the ixi-UMS Kernel Servers per directory at a time.

Depending on whether more messages are received or sent, the respective value at WebDav-connections should not be too low, as otherwise the data throughput declines (Overhead).
