ixi-UMS Enterprise User Management

The user management of the ixi-UMS users is done by means of "Active Directory User and Computer" snap-in. The user properties dialog is extended by an additional page "ixi-UMS".

 

Only one Display Specifier (ixi-UMS-Tab) can be registered on a computer. Each Display Specifier can manage the ixi-UMS users of one instance. The instance must be selected during registration.

If several instances are managed in the Active Directory, the ixi-UMS card must be registered for each instance on a different computer.

Here the settings per service can be made, if they should be different from the settings on the ixi-UMS server.

 

 

The settings of the users overwrite the settings on the server

 

 

 

If these entries are not deposited at the user, the default permissions entered at the ixi-UMS Mail Server Connector and ixi-UMS Kernel apply. In this case, "System default" is displayed.

 

 

Users can customize some of the settings through the browser-based ixi-UMS User Preferences web page.

 

 

 

On the Server on that the ixi-UMS Mail Server Connector is installed, this tab is automatically registered, presumed that the permissions are sufficient and the "Active Directory Users and Computers" SnapIn is installed.

 

If the ixi-UMS tab shall be available on other machines, it must be registered subsequently.
