Data transfer from LDAP server to Microsoft Outlook® address book
With the support of Microsoft Outlook® address book you are able to extend your address book with estos MetaDirectory contact information.
Setting up estos MetaDirectory with Microsoft Outlook® Address Book
- In the Extras select "Email accounts".
- Select "Add a new directory or address book".
- Select "Internet Directory Service (LDAP)".
- Enter the computer name where estos MetaDirectory has been installed and started.
- No further information is necessary for login.
- Click the Advanced Settings button.
- In the connection details set the port to "712" or to the port number you have set in the setup of estos MetaDirectory.
- Click the Search tab page.
- In the search options, specify dc=meta or another LDAP node you configured in Database Management under Search Base.
- Exit the dialog with Ok.
- With Continue and then Complete the LDAP connection is configured.
- In order for your settings to be applied, you must quit and restart Microsoft Outlook®.
Access to estos MetaDirectory with Microsoft Outlook® address book
- Make sure that the specified LDAP node contains data. You can use the databaseviewsearch or databaseview to view stored contacts.
- In the Extras menu, select "Address Book".
- Under "Show names from" you select your previously created directory entry. The name of the entry is the name of the computer you entered previously when setting up the LDAP directory.
- To search in the estos MetaDirectory, select "Search" under Extras.
- Enter the desired search parameter in the Search window that will now appear. Start the search using the Ok button.
- If no entries are found, check whether there are contacts in the specified LDAP node that match your search specifications.

If you want to use only a part of the contact data available in the LDAP server in Microsoft Outlook®, configure a new LDAP node via the Database Management and select it for the Microsoft Outlook® address book connection. |
