The GSM-data adapter can be connected to the COM-port or a LAN-interface
COM-Port
For the configuration in the ixi-UMS Kernel, it does not make any difference whether the GSM-data adapter is connected to a local or to a virtual COM-port.
A virtual COM-port must be installed, for example, when the ixi-UMS Server is installed on a virtual machine. The GSM-data adapter then must be connected to a TCP/IP-converter.
LAN
If the GSM adaptor has own LAN interface, this can be also headed directly about LAN.
