SIP softphone via SIP trunk
The SIP softphone can be connected to the telephone system via a SIP trunk. Two different connection types are supported. Depending on the selected telephone system type, the telephone system expects a registration or a fixed IP address when connecting to the UCServer. The SIP GW Listener is used when using a fixed IP or the checkbox is checked or unchecked when using a registrar. If necessary, you can change the default settings on your own responsibility to try other configurations.
- SIP trunk with fixed IP address
The telephone system does not provide a registrar, but requires a fixed IP address (and port) with which the UCServer SIP interface can be reached. This is provided by a network interface through the SIP GW Listener in the UCServer. Create the network interface with the configuration of the SIP GW Listener and enter the data at the PBX. Thus the telephone system can deliver new SIP messages (e.g. calls) to the UCServer.
The UCServer also needs a setting on which IP address (and port) the telephone system can be reached. Enter the data in the UCServer configuration of the SIP trunk connection to the PBX. This allows the UCServer to deliver new SIP messages to the PBX.
- SIP trunk with registration
The PBX provides a registrar where the UCServer can register with its IP address (and port). The SIP GW Listener must be deactivated. Configure the SIP trunk connection to the PBX at the UCServer.
