To start the installation at the workplace please double-click the .msi file. This starts the Windows® installer leading through the installation procedure. Several configuration options are offered to the user:
Version Information
The exact version number is displayed on the homepage.
If estos ProCall is installed on a 64-bit operating system, a note appears on this page that the 64-bit variant of the TAPI drivers are installed if required. |
License
The licence agreement has to be read and accepted by the user before the installation can be continued.
TAPI-driver
The latest version of estos ProCall doesn't require a TAPI driver for communication with the estos UCServer anymore. All functions are provided by direct communication now. This simplifies the installation and maintenance of the software even more in Terminal Server environments. During configuration the following options can be selected:
Automatic Software Updates
The user may decide here if the estos ProCall should be updated automatically. In this case a local update service is installed to the local Windows® system. The update service stays connected with the central estos UCServer for updating the client software if required.
The related software update service needs to be activated at the central estos UCServer to run the remote software updates successfully. |
Connection to the server
Please enter the server here to be connected with the estos ProCall.
The server name or its IP address is entered in the input field when using static configuration.
The server can be searched for and selected in the local network with Search server.... The list displayed contains the following information about the servers found:
Computer name | Computer name of the server |
Version | Information about the installed version of the estos UCServer |
Method of localization | Broadcast means, that the server has answered a search inquiry on the local network. DNS service record means, that the server was setup in the DNS as a service provider. |
If a DNS Service Location Record is used for the configuration of the server the estos UCServer should be found and configured automatically.
The setup of a server side DNS Service Location Record is further explained in the help system of the estos UCServer. |
Once the target folder for the program installation is entered the software installation completes by installing all files on the system.
Afterwards please start the Base configuration by activating the checkbox and select finsish.
