The connection between the software on the workstations and estos MetaDirectory is made via network interfaces. The MetaDirectory provides several interface types on the server computer listed in column "type". Each network interface is bound to a combination of IP address and port number, shown in the field "Bound to IP" and "Port". If network interfaces are used encrypted, the configured certificate is listed. The configuration is shown at the fields "Encryption" and "Certificate". A coloured symbol with tooltip help indicates the actual state of the related network interface.
Default settings
The following values are assigned to the network interface types by default:
Type | Bound to IP | Port | Encryption | Certificate |
---|---|---|---|---|
Administration | All available | 7302 | unencrypted | |
LDAP | All available | 712 | unencrypted | |
LDAPS | All available | 714 | TLS encrypted | |
HTTP | All available | 80 | unencrypted | |
HTTPS | All available | 443 | TLS encrypted | |
By default, ports are bound to all IP interfaces on the computer. If necessary, they can be limited to be used with specific IP addresses only.
You should change the port settings only if another server software uses the same port. If port conflicts occur, you will see this as an error message in the estos MetaDirectory event log. |
