ixi-UMS Enterprise offer sending SMS via HTTP using several providers.

 

The providers allow you to use gateways in order to use certain features.

Depending on the provider, there are different costs and some providers require you to have a static IP in order to use the service. Which features are provided by the providers, please refer to the specified homepage of the provider.

 

Please note:

·Receiving Delivery Status (DSN) or SMS is not supported.

·SMS with more than 160 characters are split several SMS and put back together at the receiver. Provided the provider supports this.

·ixi-UMS Enterprise creates a separate SMS for each recipient. The function "multiple recipients per SMS" does not need to be supported by the provider for using ixi-UMS. However, you should make sure that many SMS messages can be sent one after the other when you send SMS messages with several recipients. SMS messages with more than 160 characters are split into several SMS and reassembled at the receiver. Provided the provider supports this.

·For some providers, you can also provide the reply address when sending the SMS message. If the provider allows you to do this, you must enter the mobile phone number in the user management under "Mobile number".
Note that this number must be in International format and may only have 16 characters for many providers.

·Different providers with different services are supported. Please note that some providers need to make settings on the provider homepage before using the service.

Select one of the SMS providers you have stored.

 

Depending on the provider you have to enter:

 

Login Account an Password

In the User Name and Password field, enter

the Login data provided by the provider.

 

 

API-Key

Enter the key you received from the provider.

 

Max. Messages

Maximum number of SMS messages which are sent for one e-mail message. This happens if the e-mail message size exceeds the SMS size . An SMS always has 128bit - max 160 standard characters (without umlauts or special characters). If longer texts are sent, they are split into several SMS and put back together at the receiver. If the message text is defined here for a longer period of time, sending is rejected and the user receives a corresponding notification.
